An
outstanding sportsman in
his younger days,
Olympian Datuk Dr. M.
Jegathesan is still
very much involved on
the
international sports
scene in his fight
against doping. Apart
from being the Deputy
President of the Olympic
Council of Malaysia
(since 2002) and holding
a slew of senior
positions in sports
medicine, he is also
been a member of the IOC
Medical Commission
(since 2007).
When Jega was in Canada
to officiate in
the Winter Olympic Games
recently, he took the
opportunity to catch up
with Shirley Yap
who resides in
Vancouver. Albeit short,
the meeting was a much
anticipated and
nostalgic one.
From the photograph on
the right, you can see
that Shirley has
not changed much since
school days 50 years
ago!
Whilst in Vancouver,
Jega also took the
opportunity to catch up
with fellow athlete
Arthur Yap (ACS
Class of 57) and
attended a huge
gathering of Malaysians
and Singaporeans living
in Vancouver at a
Malaysian Chinese New
Year Dinner & Dance.
